Annual leave when you leave a job in Ireland
The leave year runs from 1 April. Your entitlement is the most favourable of: (a) 4 working weeks if you worked at least 1,365 hours, (b) one-third of a working week for each month with at least 117 hours, (c) 8% of the hours you worked, up to 4 weeks (Organisation of Working Time Act 1997, s. 19). Leave not taken is paid when you leave (s. 23(1)).
If your employment ends in the 7 days before a public holiday and you worked in the 4 weeks before it, you are due an extra day’s pay (s. 23(2)).
